Tokyo 2.0

Tokyo's web community starts talking here

I'm leaving Japan so I'm going to sell my iPhone 3G. I bought it at the middle of last July, soon after it was released. I know the 3GS is the lastest thing, but this no-contract iPhone 3G could make for a great development machine, toy, or of course Softbank phone.

The phone itself has some minor scratches, but nothing out of the ordinary... some normal minor wear and tear. It's completely functional and I've never had any problems with it. Comes with the charger, USB cable, and original box. No SIM card, but (as I understand it) almost all non-phone functionality will work with it, including wifi connectivity. Of course, if you jailbreak it, you can do whatever you want to. :) It has never been jailbroken and I've only used it with Softbank before.

Due to the purchase date, it should still be possible to purchase AppleCare as well.

A regular iPhone 3G without contract has a market price of around ¥60,000... it's a year old and now a generation behind, so I'm asking for ¥20,000 or best offer. I've had a great experience being part of the Tokyo 2.0 community for the past year, so I wanted to put this notice up here first before selling it through other channels.

Why would somebody buy old iPhone for 20,000 yen, when they can get new iPhone 3GS 16GB for as cheap as 11,520円.

Vladislav - because you don't get that subsidized price through softbank unless you go through with a 2 year contract...
