Tokyo 2.0 Web/Computer Related Fundraising Ideas

The steering community is brainstorming an idea to donate a little money from the door charge for every event to charity. I think in addition to donating, being the web savvy & social media trendsetters we are, we can also help a lot in terms of raising awareness.

I think there is consensus that the charity or charities we choose should somehow be web or computer related and we are looking for suggestions.

So far we have the Room to Read computer labs program: http://www.roomtoread.org/programs/labs.htm

Kiva allows group donations, so how about micro-loaning to Internet/IT related entrepreneurs?

That's a great idea. We'll certainly put that on the short list. Actually we haven't got an owner for this project yet but it would be nice to have one of there are any volunteers :-)
